The Intel Core i7-8700K is a desktop processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, launched in Oct 2017. It utilizes the Intel LGA1151 socket. The Core i7-8700K has 12MB of L3 cache and operates at 3.70 GHz by default. The unlocked multiplier on the Core i7-8700K makes it much easier to overclock, allowing you to choose any desired frequency. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled to 12 threads. This processor supports memory speeds up to DDR4-2666 utilizing dual memory channels. The processor was built using 14 nm production process. This processor features the Intel UHD Graphics 630 integrated graphics.
